JOHN CARDINALE, much beloved and well respected Vice President of Media & Community Relations at Sonoma Raceway, passed away in February after fighting the good fight against stomach cancer. His fans were legion … ‘John’s Army’ they were called.
Friday Sonoma Raceway honored Cardinale’s memory. Sonoma Raceway President/General Manager, STEVE PAGE and DIANNA BRENNAN, Senior Director, Media & Community Relations, made the presentations Friday at the track in Victory Circle.
Cardinale was inducted into the Sonoma Hall of Fame with a silver plaque on the wall behind the Main Grandstand. A replica of the wall plaque was given to his family. Additionally, the track’s Media Center will now be known as the John Cardinale Media Center.
