Excuse this late-braking news coming out of order, but I like to be among the first with good news.
Corvette will be the featured marque for the 2013 Rolex Monterey Motorsports Reunion held at Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca.
GILL CAMPBELL, CEO of the famed racetrack, made the announcement Sunday night at the conclusion of the Awards Ceremony for the 2012 event.
Suspense was built up by watching Laguna Seca artist in residence, BILL PATTERSON, do one of his famous quick paintings. He slap-dashed the paint around, and had the remnants of a vehicle, which he then identified with a big ?. Then, he washed over that, and walked away. Just before the announcement was made – along with the throaty growl of a living counterpart – Patterson finished the painting, which turned out to be a Corvette.
