Few of the Guest V8 drivers got out on track for the first practice session at Surfers Paradise for the Armor All 600 race, which included all drivers. The fastest overall driver was MARK WINTERBOTTOM/No.5 Orrcon Steel FPR Falcon, at 1:12.4570. No driver has yet to get down into the elevens, wherein lies the record. Winterbottom’s guest driver is RICHARD LYONS of Ireland.
In the first V8 practice session, seven International drivers were listed on the T&S monitor at the end of the session. Brazilian driver, AUGUSTO FARFUS Jr/No.34 Fujitsu Holden, was the top International driver in fifth place.
Others were RYAN BRISCOE/No.2 Toll Holden Racing Team -P9; PATRICK LONG/No.61 Bundaberg Racing Holden-P12; OLIVER GAVIN/No.11 Pepsi Max Crew Holden-P16; JORG BERGMEISTER/No.15 Jack Daniels Racing Holden-P23; RICHARD WESTBROOK/No.7 Jack Daniels Racing Holden-P26; and MARINO FRANCHITTI/No.30 Gulf Western Oil Racing Holden in P27.
The International drivers get two forty-minute sessions for them alone, followed by one last mixed session.
